can we scrap ctf and go for tradditional SnD? more intense....cause ctf can be very long...like 40 minutes if both rounds dont hit score limit..

reserves allowed but maximum of 14/side cause there's only 28 slots..
don't be like last time once when UO members cant log in...

But we not prepared for additional SnD Neme.. and we have trained for the Ctf in strike. yes it is intense but with only 7 v 7 i think wont stuck and either UO or Merc will get score.

About the Reserve, only KLMZ and SkyKilla for Merc

my observations if u guys dont mind

-you guys lacked cohesion despite trainings.
-you guys are little bit slower in controlling key areas.
-are you guys on some form of communication? like team speak or ventrillo or xfire?
-SA (situational awareness) is lacking big time. this is something you guys really have to work on.
-you guys made us look good. I've noticed what you guys could have done to put up a good fight but none of you guys managed to notice or lack the bite to counter.
-generally, you guys are always an inch slower.
-too afraid to go near/camp near enemies. Even when you guys captured the flag, nobody initiated to lead the way. Flag bearer had to wait and eventually died.
-should take the fight in the enemies face instead of from a distance. during ctf, there must be someone camping in enemy base to capture immediately even if the first flag bearer loses the flag.
-base MUST not be neglected. to prevent the "flow" of spawn during a flag capture. Do you guys noticed in ctf, once someone manages to capture the flag, enemy sure can capture yours and now it's a matter of which team kills the flag bearer first....

the score actually flattered them. anyway, it was still fun from gaming point of view...anytime you guys are ready for another round..just let me know Smile

well actually:
- we on xfire, but because of microphone echoes some of us cant talk or have to mute some player, only me, shanky, and torti are actively talking
- SA? what is the example?
- Our trainings is mostly about strategy but we lack of training partner.


Is it possible to do join training with UO? its a training only where you guys can share a bit of your knowledge on how to position each player, how to spread, etc.

I know this idea is very one sided coz it will be UO giving tips to Merc and Merc dont have any tips >.<
nevermind then, forget it lol!

after the mercs were trashed horribly at the night of 081109, we should really put more serious thought into trainings and such.

it was totally one sided games for 3 matches with Merc gaining almost zero point. the main elite players from UO are not even playing and acting as reserve after the 1st game which ended with the score of 500:125. and yet we couldnt even pull back 1 round for the next game.... quite a failure i would say.

yes we had fun, but we are still disorganised. the planning didnt work out. or did we even stick to the plan? my friend was at my house at the time of the scrim and even though he doesnt play cod4, he told me blatantly that we are playing like newbies. i cant really argue with him, although we have the quality players but the scores say otherwise. i dont know how UO is doing their training but they obviously have better communications and better positioning. we should really train with UO sometimes to see what is wrong with our tactics.

b4 we train with UO, we need to train with ourselves. but to be frank how many Mercs are training nowadays? and the turnout was so bad during scrim and none of the reserve came. UO have 7 playing players with 5 reserves (almost full strength?). we have 7. and UO have to wait for us when i got some CPU issues and my PC was restarted. no one to sub me if i cant make it (i admit its my fault to make everyone wait for me =( ) Cr3amCrus7 was angry b4 the scrim with the clan as he was not able to play and he just left like tt, any follow up?

all in all, we didnt play our best during scrim. UO has the pro players but we are a more balanced clan. we should be able to put up a fight with them. but we are lacking in so mnay areas that make us look so much inferior as compared to UO. we can definitely play better, and we will if we are serious about it.

2k good job in gettting everyone involved in the training and helping out with the scrim. as u have said we are more organised, well yes in a way. nemesis thanks for ur insightful comments. really the god of cod, eh? lol!

I just want to make some points clear:
- about the training
our 3 times scrim specific trainings attended by KLMJ (3x), Fear (2x), Mad-Nessie (1x), Cr3amCrus7(1x), LoveCake(3x), Shanky(1x), Torti(2x), Zero2000(3x), AAAFlyer(1x)

We choose the scrim players based on those who can commit and confirm that they can play on the scrim day. I put those who say "not sure" or "see how" as second priority.

- about Cr3amCrus7
Cr3amCrus7 join the first training but he say not sure he can join the scrim, and never give any confirmation after that. On the scrim day, he want to play as main player, I dont allow it. Actually he can be the reserve but he get angry so fast, so I decided not to let him in at all. Hot head wont give any good. correct me if I wrong.

- about Momoko
If you notice, Momoko come in the scrim before we start, I ask him to leave because he never show up in any training and he got the scrim password in incorrect way. It is for the sake of the clan discipline that I ask him to leave and tell him to make forum id so he know when there is any training going, and he has done it now. Thank you Momoko Very Happy

- about Reserve
Actually, my plan for reserve player is not to allow them to enter the server at all, wait outside the server without knowing the password. I will tell the password if we do need the reserve. The reason for this is because from past merc scrim experience, scrim is always so exciting and its hard to tell someone to stay as spectator. Need Colo's power to ask them stay spectating.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the input - I really appreciate your views on the clan and on the scrim.

Neme - I was specially interested by the comment you made regarding Situational Awareness - I understand the concept and I realise that we all really need to improve on that aspect - could you please post some tips regarding that? If so, much appreciated.

I look forward to learn a lot more regarding tactical positioning and game dynamics, being from free practice, clan practice or on the scrims.

Regarding Voip, I really think that those that cannot setup their mics, speakers/phones the proper way shouldn't join voice chat at all. Also, I'm having the feeling that x-fire voice isn't so good. When we used Teamspeak on a scrim (we did- once) I could hear with much more clarity the other team members. Also, I get the feeling that some of the clan members are a bit shy to speak out - am I wrong? Personally I think there's no reason at all for that to happen. We are a clan after all.

Concerning pratice, since Mei Haruka put her server down, we really are a bit lost out there. I have said it once and I'll say it again - I am willing to contribute for us to get our own server, if others that can agree too.

the in-game dynamics is something you cannot train. it's pure understanding on the current dynamics and flow.

-for me, i make an effort to ensure comms is tested BEFORE the scrim. anyone comes in and test IN-GAME will be ticked off. slowly, those having comms issue will not be in TS at all.

-when you spawn, if you notice, most people sprint off in the direction you are facing. anyone tried to run the other direction which is actually backstab?

-koth, you guys did well in camping the next HQ but it would be better to cordon off enemies exit instead of camping. if they can't leave the current HQ, they can't cap the next HQ.

-koth and ctf, UAV jammer I would say is 90% must unless you're too fast for the UAV refresh rate. only sd is ok to risk not using it.

-SA here can refer to many pointers which is too much to list down. most important is to spec your mates to know the enemey location ESPECIALLY if you witness your mate's death. my number #1 rule of the thumb. don't allow the enemy to kill a second mate. when I spec you guys, it seems you guys are a little afraid of the enemy. when we played JEDI or Bf.Nut, i'm never afraid to run towards them even though I may die first. remember you death may be worth a HQ cap or a successful plant.

-I'm not sure if you guys had any plans/instructions discussed before hand but it sure did not look like you guys execised it. For us, we already knew what we had to do each time. Chemistry wise, I don't think we had much as you can see, each scrim, always different players. the chemistry is nothing compared to the promod teams cause the same team stick together each time they scrim. So, I guess alot is following instructions. Smoke is very useful but I dont see you guys using it extensively.

-I quote 1 instance which in ctf, you guys captured the flag but was unable to carry it back to base. From where I spec, I'm suprised how u guys covered the flag bearer. you guys were just too far. All trying to defend flag bearer from outsite. Nobody led the way for flag bearer, instead he had to fend for himself. The stretch which you had to run across the street to own flag, the moment you guys captured the flag, there were already at least 2 guns aiming at the entry where you would run across the street back to base. With few smoke grenades, I'm sure you guys would be able to form a safe pathway for flag bearer. But flag bearer could not even reach the last stretch.

-remember:
1) suprise the enemy means to catch them when they least expect you. -=[UO]=- were off the block like lightening upon start but I noticed after -=[UO]=- reached the HOT zone, you guys were still planting clays and zoom with iron sights.
2) you need to know who in MERC likes to kill and likes to be objective. From what I notice in MERC, you have members that can kill and members that can be objective but you lack the members that can kill and be objective.
3) think about how zero2000 and KLMJ can compliment each other instead of 1 killing and 1 capping for example. very often, it's more of how you guys compliment each other instead of 1 trying to have GODLY kills or top in the team while the other is dying and trying to cap alone.

like I've said, the score flattered us. I think it would be great to do this often but this could possibly be the last cause MW2 was out yesterday. from what I see, forgive me for being blunt but i think selfish play was more than team play. that was why we could win........

there aint really any starters or main elite la. I was just too rusty and not good enough to play the next 2 maps! i managed to play the first map cause initially we did not have enough Sad

-don't shoot only when you see. you can shoot what you hear or what you "may" see (in sd)
-no UAV? use the escape key
-i never like the word assume because it means ASS of U n ME. take a quick effort to check friendly or hostile.
-your death may lead to a successful point because the bullet needed to kill the flag bearer may be used up on you
-expect the unexpected. your reaction time will be faster. everytime I run, i'm always preparing for a suprise even if in our own base....always preparing to fire/jump/wrist/knife/crouch/prone etc.....
-see how/where the enemy is spawning/coming/firing from. ctf mechanics is such that everyone moves in a "circle". so is sabo. u need to know when/how to stop this flow in a "circle". this 'circle' however is one-sided sometimes so you need to force the 'circle'. don't let enemy force the 'circle' else you'll get camped. DICTATE the pattern. don't let enemy decide where/how you'll spawn. many people complain about stupid spawn. think about it, did you spawn there upon start? koth mechanics such that usually, you enter this way enemy will enter the other way. but preventing them from coming in from a distance has a better success rate than keeping them off from near. notice how fast -=[UO]=- cuts off the "supply". It applies to sabo, ctf, ch and dom.
